  • Before any attempt to cleaning the infected area: use a mask or respirator, protective eyewear, gloves, and clothes that can be washed immediately.
  • Never attempt to wipe mold when it is dry. The mold spores can become airborne and be inhaled – which can be particularly dangerous to children, elderly adults, and pregnant women.
  • Before any cleaning begins, remove the moisture problem. Placing a dehumidifier near the area can help dry out the area quickly.
  • With items such as sheetrock, wood and carpet, mold can be very difficult to completely remove. These items need to be removed from the home and safely disposed of. Lindstrom Restoration has the ability to safely remove such items and disinfect the area.
  • If you are able to remove the mold on your own, disinfect the area using bleach and water. Leave the solution on the area for about 20 minutes.
  • Rinse the area with clean water and dry completely.
  • Ventilate the area so moisture does not settle, causing the mold problem to once again arise.
  • If the problem persists be sure to contact your insurance company as well as Lindstrom Restoration.
